AVANC

One of the brilliant acts that secured for this year’s festival is Welsh group AVANC. Representing the brightest, most dedicated and talented young people of the Welsh musical traditions, the eight members coming to the Isle of Man in July play a whole range of different musical instruments, and some of them clog dance too! The band began as the National Youth Folk Ensemble of Wales. The project by Trac Cymru aimed to train young musicians aged 18-25 in performance skills to help them into a career as professional folk musicians, as well as representing Wales’ folk music on major stages.
