Delyth & Angharad will star in an acoustic concert in St Johns Royal Chapel (Friday 31st July), as well as taking part in the Celtic Songs of the Sea variety concert and leading workshops and sessions.
Delyth Jenkins and Angharad Jenkins are a mother-and-daughter duo from Swansea, Wales, whose music blends traditional Welsh harp and fiddle music with their own compositions. Harpist Delyth first gained recognition during the Welsh folk revival with groups including Aberjaber and Cromlech, before building a varied career as a performer, composer and theatre collaborator. Angharad grew up immersed in the tradition and later became a founding member of the award-winning, internationally touring band Calan. She now collaborates regularly with artists across genres as a fiddle-player, singer and songwriter. Since beginning to perform together in 2007 under the name DnA, they have toured widely and released two albums, Adnabod and Llinyn Arian. Cerys Matthews of BBC Radio 6 Music said that “this music is rooted in tradition but altogether original sounding and beautifully written… a thing of beauty.”
Alongside their performance and composition work, they are passionate about sharing music for health and wellbeing, leading workshops and performing in community settings including intensive care wards, care homes and on the Lullaby Project for perinatal mental health.
