Filidh (which means ‘poets’ in Irish Gaelic) will be entertaining Yn Chruinnaght Celtic Gathering audiences throughout most of the festival at various venues, in concerts and sessions.
FILIDH [Fill-ee] is an expressive and spirited trad/folk group that features Irish traditional music and Appalachian folk music blended with newly composed originals. The band consists of Caty Cleary (fiddle, vocals), Declan Coles (bodhrán, vocals), Neil Dignam (banjo, bouzouki), Ellen O’Brien (flute), and Daragh Ó Duibhir Baoill (guitar). Established in 2024, Caty and Declan hail from the USA and share in relocating to Dublin where the band’s artistry is forged. FILIDH’s name—the Irish for poets—relays their mission to share and weave together the stories, images, and identity of Irish traditional and American folk music.
