Grace will document the festival as ‘artist in residence’ and she will show her photography exhibition ‘Dawns’ (Welsh for Dance) digitally in the Atholl Room, as well as leading a Q&A session (Thursday 30th July)
Grace Hannell is a photographer whose main bodies of work focus on her own and others relationships with place, nature and folklore. Based in Bristol, Grace is a massive folk music fan, morris dancer, and artist, and her photography work for the past two years has been all about how important folk and folklore is to culture. How it cultivates a sense of belonging, how it moves people, how important it is that to adapt and change traditions to suit a modern world and gain a new audience.
